The National Secretary General of the National Youth Assembly of the People’s Liberation Party the PLP has condemned and demands a speedy investigation into the crisis surrounding the death of Liberia Peace ambassador Rev. William R. Tolber III, Maude Elliot and John Hilary Tubman.
According to Volar, despite the hardship and economic constraints confronting the vast majority of Liberians in the country, the gruesome and mysterious killings of both low and high-profile citizens in recent times continue to create panic and threaten the survivability of ordinary citizens across the Country.
He narrated that in less than a month, Liberians witnessed the gruesome murders of John Hilary Tubman 76, son of former President William V.S. Tubman was found dead with a deep cut on his neck, while on early Tuesday, November 2, the Government of Liberia through the Minister of Information confirmed the death of Rev. William R. Tolbert, III, youngest son of ex-Liberian President William R. Tolber and also the death of Maude Elliot, an officer of the Personnel Department of the Liberia Immigration Service who was killed in cold blood by an unknown person at her Brewerville residence during the night hours of Sunday.
Speaking in an interview on Wednesday, Volar encouraged the government to do all it can and have these killings investigated and make public findings aimed at reducing fear within the public.
He maintained that the mysterious murders of the sons of two ex-Liberian Presidents within less than a month have instilled fear in ordinary Liberian citizens thus doubting their safety and wellbeing in a nation that has suffered from over a decade of brutal civil unrest.
