Martin Luther


Everybody wants good things and peace in this world, but peace cannot be attained without following the teaching of some kind of religion. We all learn and follow someone’s teaching in life, and life would have never existed without communications. We all somehow learn and follow the rules from the Bible, the Quran, or Torah to make us better people. If there were no one to translate these books, we wouldn't be able to learn the true meaning of the words in them. For the Christian religion, Martin Luther was the first person to translate and publish the Bible. When Martin Luther started translating the Bible, he did it for debates not for reformation even though he wanted to see reform in the church. He taught people that they did not need religious leaders to talk to God and he wanted more free will in the churches and to God.

When Luther came, he to reject several teachings and practices of the Roman Catholic Church. He strongly debates the claim that freedom from God's punishment for sin could be purchased with money. He also debated that anyone can have a direct relationship with God. A lot of people will agree that it is true that we can not pay money to take away our sins. As a Christian and from what the bible said we do good things and pray to take away our sins. The righteousness of God does not condemn sinners but save them and bring them closer. So it is not ok for a man to punish another man for their sin.

Nobody is perfect and we should not judge people. Luther teaches the people about free will, he recognized Erasmus's literary superiority. Luther claims that faith alone makes someone just and fulfills. In order words, you can worship and pray to God without going to church. Most people will agree with this one, but we do not have to go to church to be a Christian or to have faith in God. We just need to live according to the bible and not the pope as Luther said. As long as we have faith in our heart it is enough but some people will disagree because we as a Christian we have to worship together and it is more powerful to be together.

As Christians, and from what the church has been teaching, most people would agree that the Reformation was a good thing. Luther did other great things in his life, including writing hymns and translating the Bible into German. He might have inspired other writers to translate the Bible into other languages around the world. Luther also argues that we humans are sinful creature being captive to the will of the devil, which I strongly disagree because we make our own choices, not the devil.

We choose to follow God or the devil which is basically the Church or the world. We shouldn’t go for confession because as a Lutheran it does not seem to be ok telling your sin to a strange person, but that’s another story! As Luther said we should talk to god yourself instead of telling the pope or they persist. Martin Luther's teaching or reformation was important even though the churches did not agree with him. Many Churches follow his style and if it wasn’t for him, people from around the world wouldn’t be able to hear the gospel for themselves.
