John Calvin

John Calvin was an authoritative French pastor and theologian during the Protestant Reformation. Calvin alone with his two friends, brother and sister fled France and went to the Strasbourg which was a free city at that time. Calvin was raised in the church and wrote his book The Institutes of the Christian Religion; when he first converted into his "evangelical" faith. William Farel who was the author of The Institutes was in the city and he had recently created a Protestant church there. He hurries down and begs Calvin, claims that it was God's will for Calvin to remain in the city of Geneva.

Calvin wanted to stay only for a night but Farel prays to God so that God would curse all Calvin studies unless he stays in town. Calvin a really smart man did not continue his journey. Many people in the city of Geneva disagree with Calvin's teaching so they decided to kick him out of the city. Later on, they realized that they were not following the bible, so they call Calvin back to help them. John Calvin created the Calvinism and help people with other things and became to be known as the most influential theologian of the Reformation. Calvin started to argue about certain teaching in the churches and he didn’t like what they were following. Calvin argues that all things are created by God. He argues that God has a purpose for all things and nothing can come in between them. Calvin argues that God has a kind of election where he decides who he likes and who he does not like. A lot of Christian would disagree because of God Judge people on their good deeds/ karma. When people hear the message they start to wonders if they are in a select group of people. He also argues that salvation comes to people by them having faith which a lot of people start to worry and ask if they have faith. John Calvin is somewhat similar to Martin Luther. Calvin and Martin Luther went to school and study in the field of law, but Calvin graduate and Luther went on to finishing law school and becoming a monk, eventually they both become a Doctor of Theology. Calvin and Luther's study are kind of similar and they both help create the reformation in the church except Luther was more about the Catholic churches and Calvin was more about the Lutheran churches.
